What ethical practiceactually costs us.

Every unnecessary scan we talk a family out of is revenue we do not earn. We built this hospital around one rule anyway: recommend only what we would choose for our own family. That is why estimates are written, and second opinions are encouraged.

  • Compassion first

Every patient is met with patience and dignity. We explain, we listen, and we never rush a frightened family.

  • Ethical practice

No unnecessary test, no unnecessary surgery. If a simpler treatment works, that is what we recommend.

  • Transparent pricing

Estimates are shared in writing before admission, and any change is discussed before it is billed.

  • Clinical excellence

Protocol-driven care, audited outcomes and continuous training keep our standards measurable, not just claimed.

Read our mission

Since 1952

A hospital old enough to be trusted.New enough to be chosen.

1952
The beginning
  1. 1952

Kamala Raman Hospital opens its doors

A small nursing home in the heart of Mysuru, built on a simple promise: treat every family the way you would treat your own.

  2. 1970s

    The first dedicated operating theatre

Surgery came in-house, so families no longer travelled to Bengaluru for procedures that could be done safely at home.

  3. 1990s

A wing for obstetrics & gynaecology

Round-the-clock labour rooms and neonatal support — the department that has since delivered three generations of Mysuru families.

  4. 2000s

    Laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery

Smaller incisions, shorter stays. Urology and general surgery moved to minimally invasive technique as standard.

  5. 2010s

    Modular theatres and digital imaging

Protocol-driven critical care, digital reporting, and an ICU staffed by resident intensivists.

  6. Today

    Nine specialities, one standard

The same family, the same ethics, and the equipment the next seventy years will need.

Straight answers

The questions peoplefeel awkward asking.

Cost, insurance, whether you can get a second opinion. None of it should require a phone call to find out.

Still unanswered? Call 0821 2332381 or read the patient guide.

  • No. Walk-in outpatients are seen through OPD hours. Booking an appointment simply reserves a slot with a specific consultant so you wait less, and for emergencies you should come straight in — no appointment or paperwork is needed before treatment starts.

  • Outpatient consultations run 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday to Saturday, and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Sunday. The emergency department, ICU, pharmacy and laboratory operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

  • We handle cashless claims for major insurers including Star Health, HDFC ERGO, ICICI Lombard, Bajaj Allianz and New India Assurance, and we accept Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), Karnataka Arogya Sanjeevini, CGHS and ESI. Bring your card or policy number to the front desk and our insurance help desk will pre-authorise the admission.

  • You receive a written estimate before any planned procedure or admission, covering room category, surgeon and anaesthesia charges, and expected investigations. Consultation fees are payable at the front desk. We will tell you honestly if a treatment can wait or is not needed at all.

  • Yes, and we encourage it. Ask for a copy of your reports and our consultant's written opinion — both are given without question. No RMS consultant will pressure you into a same-day decision on elective surgery.

  • Routine pathology and biochemistry reports are ready the same day, and can be collected from the laboratory counter or sent to you digitally. Ask the technician to note your mobile number at the time of sample collection.

  • General visiting hours are 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. One attender is permitted to stay with the patient overnight. ICU visiting is restricted to a short window each evening, decided by the treating intensivist.

  • Yes. Basic and advanced life-support ambulances with trained paramedics are available 24 hours. Call the emergency number and the dispatch desk will confirm the vehicle and estimated arrival time immediately.

Still deciding?Talk to a person, not a form.

Describe the symptoms in your own words. We will point you to the right consultant — and tell you honestly if a hospital visit is not needed at all.
